So here I am starting to write a book that I believe God is leading me to write. Interesting indeed is the journey of life. Peculiar perhaps to some and a struggle for others. Yet this thing called life is most assuredly going to bring you strife. Jesus himself said” “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” You can bet your bottom dollar that some type of calamity or hardship has been or will be experienced by every single person in the world. It is really just a fact of life. So know this, that you are not alone in your misery, we are all miserable together or to state it another way we are altogether miserable.
I will tell you sometimes it feels like it’s all crashing down around me. It seems like hope is allusive. Mostly though it is the constant nag of imperfection. My health is not quite right , my belly hangs to much, I dont have enough money, I dont have enough energy or time. I have to deal with this person and that person, my kids are a handful, my wife is unreasonable, chores are a never ending mountain these are the everyday mundane and they are troublesome. Jesus has peace for you in the midst of them.
Sickness, disease, injury, death, job loss, divorce, drug addiction, abuse these are some heavy hitters. Jesus has peace for you in the midst of them. Devils, demons, terrorist, thugs, evilness, and enemies of all sorts. Jesus has peace for you in the midst of them. This verse in Psalms 23 has been standing out to me it's’ verse 6 (Psalms 23:6) “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies....” Jesus told us about trouble we would have in this life not so that we would stress out and think we are hopeless. No, He actually wants us to not freak out when tough times come, but to lean into Him. He has peace for us in the midst of life. He is our refuge and our shelter. “But You, O Lord, are a shield about me. My glory, and the One who lifts my head.” Psalms 3:3
